Current Community Service Project : The Grandparent Adoption Project
Hey there, What a great , happy, fun, project this one is for January and February. Do you like art? This is artsy.. We are adopting a nursing home for Valentines Day and it is our intent to make sure every resident of that retirement home gets a Valentine’s Day card for Valentine’s Day. We need a 1000 cards.
Join us by making Valentine’s Day cards. Make them at home, make them at one of our park days, it doesn’t matter. Spread the word! We will be collecting Valentine Cards made with care, happiness, kindness, and love until Feb 12th. If you can’t make one of our park days, please send your card to Las Vegas Valley Homeschool Network, Care of Kristina Krist, 284 New River Circle, Henderson, Nevada 89052.

Project for March 2010 : 2nd Annual Clothing Swap
Hey there! Its a fair exchange swap just like the one we did last October where we moved 5000 pieces of clothing and raised $300 in donations. This clothing swap will be on a Saturday and its our second community service activity of 2010.
Come volunteer, come swap, there were some great things last year.. We are going beyond gently used clothes and including all gently used household items. Three other groups are joining us in making this a much bigger swap this year.
Location: The LDS Chapel on Viking Street in Las Vegas and it will be from 8am till 3pm. Come swap, come volunteer.
Donations will be accepted earlier starting March 1st.

This sounds amazing! What a simple and quite do-able way to reach out and bring some happiness to someone who deserves and needs it. Getting the glitter glue and red construction paper out…
